Throwing Big Workshop
with Ceramic Artist Lauren Cameron
Sunday August 3rd | 10am-4pm
Join ceramic artist Lauren Cameron for a full-day workshop focused on section throwing—a technique that allows you to create larger forms by throwing and joining multiple pieces. You’ll work with 2–3kg of clay per section and learn how to throw, attach, and refine two parts into one cohesive piece.
This method is ideal for scaling up your work without putting strain on your body. You will have plenty of time to throw multiple pieces and receive as much attention as needed.
Please note this is an advanced workshop, for the best learning experience please ensure you’re comfortable centering at least 1kg of clay.
Please bring:
- Around 20kgs of your preferred clay (studio clay available for purchase—note: we don’t recommend porcelain for this technique)
- A plate of food to share for our communal lunch. Please label any dietary info (meat, dairy, gluten, etc.)
- Your pottery toolkit
- Apron
- Notebook and Pen
Lauren holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Ceramics) from RMIT and brings 6+ years of hands-on experience in throwing and sculptural techniques.
Spaces are limited—book now to secure your spot!
