Raku Workshop with Grub Pottery

Claydreamers & Grub Pottery will hold a Raku workshop Saturday 31st August 2024

This fast-firing technique suits beginners and those with experience.

The workshop will be held at Grub Pottery in Kangaroo Ground with Annette Nobes. 45 Flat Rock Rd, Kangaroo Ground VIC 3097.

On the day of the workshop you will learn to glaze your ceramic pieces, which will then be rapid fired to approx. 1000 degrees. They are then removed from the kiln, glowing hot and placed into sawdust filled bins to create a reduce atmosphere promoting stunning colours, crackle and lustre effects.

This dynamic technique will see you taking home your completed works on the day.

When: Saturday 31st August 2024

Time: 9.00am – 4.00pm

Includes Raku clay and firing of 3-4 pots (maximum 10x10cm). You will need to have your Raku clay pieces bisque-fired prior to the day.

More details about preparing your pieces will be discussed with students who sign up.
